What our customers say about our Hydrangeas
We asked our customers for feedback on this year's crop and here is what they said...
Longacres Garden Centres
"The Hydrangeas from Viking are always top quality, and are a fantastic seller for us at Longacres. This year the quality was as fantastic as ever. The “Red Bull” variety was selling so fast it wasn’t making it from the Dutch trolleys to the benches! As Viking grow them outside, they release them a bit later than the Dutch varieties, so become perfect bench fillers of colour, at the right time of the year. My only problem was I didn’t reserve enough.“
Duchy of Cornwall Nursery
"Thank you all for the lovely Hydrangeas you grew and supplied, they are truly stunning!!!!“
Hergest Croft Gardens, Kington
"We can only say wonderful things about Viking's Hydrangeas. Fantastic quality and value for money they have been flying out of the door. Dark Angel was a particularly popular variety. They are such lovely plants.“
"The feedback from the stores has been positive, and going round myself the quality has looked fantastic. I popped into Podington a couple of days after they arrived and they looked to be strong plants, a good potful to make an impact within the front of the plant area, especially once in flower! The sell through rate so far has been really good – with a few stores now being almost clear!“
Scotsdales Garden Centres
"The hydrangeas were lovely this year. The growth was nice and firm with no collapsing of the plant, just at the right point of flowering, enough colour to sell but with plenty of bud in reserve, the only problem I had was not ordering enough.“
Foggy Hau - Abercorn Plant & Garden Centre, Chelmsford
“We have been selling Viking’s Summer Hydrangea collections for over 5 years with good success. The Hydrangea paniculata range is an excellent boost for Summer shrub sales with their modern colour palette and sturdy constitution. Any issues have always been rectified swiftly.”
Notcutts Garden Centres
"The Hydrangeas were excellent quality and delivered at the perfect stage with buds and colour starting to show. A good mix of colours in both lacecap and mophead. They have been in our shrub category top sellers since we had them in.“
Maybury Gardens, Stornoway
"We are a Garden Centre based in the very North West of Scotland and require our plants to be exceptionally hardy. We have previously bought Hydrangeas every year from varying suppliers but have always had success with these from Viking. This year however we have never had such demand for them, due in part to the quality and size, from the number of heads, to the density of the heads and the gorgeous variety of colours. We wish we had bought more. Aside from the hydrangea being of exceptional quality, we appreciate the value we receive in the numbers packed onto trolleys and the ease of speaking to Sam to place an order."
Bonnies Oak Garden Centre
"The hydrangeas we had from Viking were the best we have ever had in 50 years of trading. We could not get enough of them. Thank you so very much."
Haskins Garden Centres
"We prefer our Hydrangeas to come in bud, breaking colour. The lacecaps are particularly good with 4 strong varieties packed with flower buds and colour just at the right stage to give the best shelf life but also a fast turnaround which is what we strive for. We sold nearly 500 plants in two weeks. We retail at £19.99 but with a strong multi-buy to encourage the volume.“
